client challenges
Traditional sourcing methodologies and approaches have been around for over twenty years and whilst the sourcing market place has changed radically, they have not. Often they are complex, inflexible and focused on technical matters rather than business outcomes.
Our experience has shown that traditional approaches typically:
- set restrictive boundaries for dialogue, exchange of information and exploration of ideas - creating adversarial relationships from the outset;
- encumber participants with highly detailed processes and documentation;
- focus on the elimination of service provider candidates; and
- stifle creativity from all parties.
This results in valuable client time being wasted on the wrong things and limits the opportunity to take a strategic perspective. Ultimately, this frequently results in sourcing arrangements that fail to meet the business requirements or deliver sustainable benefits.
Our approach is different, in that it addresses the challenges that clients and service providers face every day. We know this through our significant experience of working on sourcing initiatives, and by talking in depth to both the client and service provider communities.
